Even Diaghilev quivered a little when he first heard the music. “Will it last a very long time this way?” he asked. Stravinsky replied, “Till the end, my dear.” – excerpted from Alex Ross’ The Rest is Noise: Listening to the Twentieth Century.

I went to an aural spectacle featuring Darryl Brenzel’s jazz adaptation of Igor Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring.” Here are a few great reviews of the work:
