How did I get here? When Jail seems like the best option. It is true that most of the actual game playing in Monopoly happens between the Jail and Go to Jail spaces. That is why strategists tell you to buy up and develop those properties early in the game for a better chance at winning. Divas, most of the game happens before you get to Broadway and Park Place.<\/p>\n We are playing a long game<\/a> and what we do not often realize is that the scarier high rent properties will be in the middle.\u00a0Kentucky Avenue, Indiana Avenue, and Illinois Avenue can really pack a wallop if you aren’t expecting or prepared for it.<\/p>\n Nobody wants to go to Jail unless they are in horrendous shape.\u00a0When you are handcuffed on the sidelines, you cannot do much to help yourself. Plus, what might be even worse, is that you will see your friends continue zooming around the board while you wait it out. Do the legwork now. Be aware of the\u00a0types of scenarios that would make you consider taking yourself out of the game entirely.<\/p>\n For today’s activity, I want you to take a moment and think about the minefields or barriers to entry you are experiencing\u00a0currently. Also think about the hurdles you have overcome in the past. Is there a theme to those hurdles? Our brains are so fascinating. We often become blind to the areas in which we consistently make mistakes. I’m not advocating that you spend too much time thinking about all the obstacles that could occur in the future, especially for those of you who are prone to anxiety. I would rather that you spend the time thinking about the positive things that could happen in the future and then reverse engineering those positive outcomes.
